In Texas holdem and various other poker games, your position at the poker table is a huge aspect. Position is just where you are placing your self, the nearer to the dealer’s button the better. The power of your position arrives from the reality that the betting goes in a clockwise manner.
In a good position, [...]

In a Bodog battlefield of 39 poker bloggers, it was Bodonkey newcomer salex77 who laid claim to the final hand of the night.

final hand

Bodonkey newbie salex77 wins the tournament after a timely HU match with MoFo_69

1. salex77 - $156.00 + T$109 + $25 casino credit
2. MoFo_69 - $93.60 + T$75
3. NumbBono - $62.40 + T$50
4. ICrushBloggers- $46.80
5. TripJax- $31.20
6. BrainMc - T$11 (bubble)
7. BuddyDank - T$11 (bubble)
8. wilwonka - T$11 (bubble)

Bodonkey poker tournaments would not be complete without one final suck out to land the 1st place winnings and all it’s glory. With a better than 2-1 chip lead, salex77 called Mofo_69’s shove from the small blind with A7s. Mofo_69 showed ATo and they were off to the races. Mofo_69 flopped a smash-hit gutter ball, but salex77 rivered a 7 to take this Bodonkey down moving him into 3rd place with 287 points on the tournament leader board.

A last minute emergency kept our hero Eric “Rizen” Lynch from playing the tournament, but the decision was made to honor his legacy and keep the bounty on his stack in play.

The ghost of Eric Rizen Lynch turns the nut straight and he outplays his table mates.

The ghost of Eric "Rizen" Lynch turns the nut straight and he outplays his table mates.

As it turned out, our hero’s ghost made quite an impression with his stack in play and even pulled off an impressive win over his table mates who thought they could take him out in a classic attempt to go all in.

Here is how that hand played out:

Rizen was blinded down to his final few chips which all went in from the BB. Although Rizen wasn’t there to play out his hand, his spirit owned the 7 other players who limped in to try and claim his bounty. Rizen’s 6-8o turned a straight and he went from 60 chips to 360 outplaying his table mates who clearly were out matched.

It wasn’t until a couple of orbits later that the T$109 bounty on the ‘ghost of Rizen’s head’ to play in Bodog’s 100K Guaranteed went to 2-time bounty winner, blogger PokahDave.

Poker blogger PokahDave takes the $T109 bounty on the ghost of Eric Rizen Lynch

Poker blogger PokahDave takes the $T109 bounty on the ghost of Eric "Rizen" Lynch

Here is how the bust out hand went down:

The ghost of Rizen went all-in from the big blind with a 6-7s vs. 3 other opponents: NumbBono with Jc9h, PokahDave with 4h4d (both were also all-in) and TripJax with 8h8c - he had all three players well covered. PokahDave then spiked a 4 on the flop for bottom set, but had to fade TripJax’s turned OESD for the win. PokahDave’s set of 4’s held on to win the hand and off he goes with the $T109 bounty for the 2nd tournament in a row.

Ovations to this week’s Gigli, “Sir Waffles”, who once again cleverly demonstrated why he holds the record for the ‘worst player ever’!

GG Donkeys!

36 poker bloggers suited up for tonight’s historic Bodog blogger tournament to take a shot at collecting the T$109 bounty on the notorious Sir Waffles. Whoever says playing poker online isn’t fun, definitely hasn’t played this series!

Poker Blogger MiamiDon Wins The Bodog Blogger Tournament

Blogger MiamiDon wins the main pot of $27, 234 finishing in 1st place.

1. MiamiDon - $144.00 + T$109 + $25 casino credit
2. PokahDave - $86.40 + T$75
3. Newinnov - $57.60 + T$50
4. pokerpeaker - $43.20
5. AskDrL - $28.80
6. FishEater2000 - T$11 (bubble)
7. scottc25- T$11 (bubble)
8. lightning36 - T$11 (bubble)

Congratulations to poker blogger MiamiDon for taking down tonight’s tournament. Here is how he claimed his 1st place winnings.

PokahDave had just lost a big pot and looked down at the mighty 10-2o, also known as the “Brunson”. He pondered the situation at hand, took a swig of his Sam Adams and shipped all his chips in the middle. MiamiDon was already counting his 1st place winnings when he realized PokahDave’s move for what it was, a stupefied donkey shove. MiamiDon was all over it, called him with an A-6o and the tournament was his for the taking. MiamiDon now sits in 5th place with 221 points on the tournament leaderboard.

PokahDave Knocks Out Bounty Player out Waffles

Blogger PokahDave wins the hand that knocked out our bounty legacy, Sir Waffles.

As for Sir Waffles, here’s how the hand at the final table knocked him out.

FishEater2000 gifted a big portion of his stack in a previous hand, looked down at two 4’s. Knowing this was his night, he figured he would get all the remaining chips in play starting with this next move. He shoved all in, got called 3 ways and didn’t have a prayer. The T$109 bounty to play Bodog’s 100K Guaranteed went to poker blogger PokahDave and our break even poker legacy was done for the night.

In his own words, here is how Waffles explains it:

“The final table became a real nit fest. I have not seen that much folding since I visited the Chinese Laundry in Downtown Boston. I saw my chips diminishing so I decided to raise a speculative hand like KQ. Short handed I think this is fine. I could have put it all in the middle but the result would have been the same. Scott25 then decided to re-raise me. I thought about the hand a little bit and determined he had a pair smaller than a Queen. I had seen him do similar moves with smallish pairs and something just felt like medium to small pair. So I decided I needed to gamble and jammed my stack in. He instantly called with his Jacks and we were off to the races. Luckily it was a short race as a king flopped and I doubled up.

I then ran Jacks and AT into Aces as two shorties doubled through me. The bubble had been going on for a while so at the break I announce “I am going in blind”. Now you might think someone would limp and try and trap me with a reasonable hand but I got no action with my ducks. The very next hand I jammed the hockey sticks and everyone folded again. I sat back again as everyone folded for that twenty six bucks. Here is my thinking though. As sixth place I get 11T$. As fifth I get $26 and no T$. So the difference is nothing. I was going to play for first.

I get T7 in the small blind and everyone folds around to me. Again I have rarely ever seen this amount of ridiculous non-stealing in any game I have ever played ESPECIALLY with Bloggers. So I jam my hand into PokerDaves big blind and he wakes up with AK. I outflop him with a seven but the river brings his miracle resuck and I am down to 200 chips.

The poker gods decide to mock me and give me AK the very next hand. I of course go all in here and get called five ways. The flop looks good with K45.. but when NewInNov jams I am sure he has a hand. Lucky for me it is just two pair. The river pairs the board and I have 1 blind.

I look down and see another small pocket pair. I get all in but this time it was not to be as PokerDave wins the hand and takes the bounty on my head. All in all I played a good game and enjoyed myself. It just was not to be. I look forward to all of the poker sites offering me professional player contracts in the coming weeks and will be taking my time to decide who gives the best offer. Obviously Bodog has and edge because they were the first to recognize me as a world class player and put a bounty on my head.”

Bodog applauds Bodonkey newbie Molokai for coming out each tourney and putting his best effort forward, but somehow still managing to land the title as our 4-time Gigli record holder! GG Everyone!

Next Tournament: Tuesday November 25th! Start Time 9:05 PM ET.

WE WELCOME BACK OUR SPECIAL GUEST BOUNTY PLAYER, THE ONE AND ONLY ERIC “RIZEN” LYNCH!

Get in the head of the delusional Wawfuls ...

"Get in the head of the delusional Wawfuls … "

One of the industry’s most infamous poker bloggers and the guest bounty player in the November 20th Bodog blogger tournament is the notorious Sir Waffles.

Bodog recently caught up with him in an interview to find out how it is that he came to be the object of such scrutiny in what would seem to be a never ending harmless game of online poker blogger controversy.

The Bodog Poker Blogger: What do think makes you the biggest “donkey” in the world of poker blogging?

Waffles: It is all the hatahs. Everyone is soooo jealous of my brilliance that they have to try and degrade me to make themselves feel better as they lose that ten cent SNG they are playing.

BPB: How did the name “WAFFLES”come about and what’s the meaning behind your Bodog screen name “FishEater2000″?

Waffles: The name ‘Waffles’ was coined by AlCantHang. It potentially could refer to my ‘waffling’ account balance as I strive for breakeveneness. FishEater2000 has no meaning. I just wanted a different name on Bodog.

BPB: What made you start a poker blog and what do you enjoy most about blogging?

Waffles: When I am gone off the face of this earth all my brilliant poker knowledge and strategy will live on. I am hoping through my blog to find a worthy successor to my beauty, brains, and poker acumen. So far all I have found is a bunch of donkeys.

BPB: Why do you think other poker bloggers call you the “worst player ever”?

Waffles: Jealousy and hatred fuels it all. Only Bodog truly recognizes the genius that is my online poker play. They alone have grouped me with Rizen and Evy Ng. Two well known and respected pro players. Obviously they realize that I am more skilled than these two and thus have offered a bounty on my head.

BPB: Who do you think is your biggest rival in the Bodog blogger series and do you think this person is just waiting for the opportunity to take the bounty on your head?

Waffles: Everyone is waiting to take the bounty on my head. I mean did you see the horrible play in the last Bodog game? People calling huge raises to catch one outters on the river. They think if they knock me out and take my bounty that they can discourage me, but I will not be defeated. As far as rivals, I have none.

BPB: What do you like best about the structure of the Bodog blogger series and if you could change anything about this series what would that be?

Waffles: The Bodog series is great. I think it is awesome that Bodog has gotten behind some of the worst players in the world and given them bounties and T$ in excess of anything they could ever expect to make themselves. Bodog should really be praised by poker bloggers. I like that fact that the Bodog blogger tourneys have a good starting stack and a decent amount of time between levels. This allows the nits to be picked on longer and have their stacks picked out from under them until they have no chips to jam their Aces with. The $25 online casino credit is also awesome. When I won it I took the chip and ran it up to 300 before busting it out lol.

BPB: What can you tell us about our blogger series host “Smokkee” that we don’t already know?

Waffles: I really do not know much about Smokkee. I met him a few times and only talked to him to get close to his lovely woman LoveElf. Now she is an awesome woman who is smart, intelligent, beautiful and a real joy to talk to. The only mistake she made in her life would be Smokkee. Poor woman will be paying for that for a loooong time.

BPB: In your opinion, please provide answers to the following:

What poker blogger is the most skilled poker player?

Poker has many facets. As far as cash game expertise guys like MiamiDon and PokerGnome are really good. Hoyazo, LJ, Sucko have made some of the most consistent MTT wins.

Who has the best poker blog for entertainment purposes?

Dr. Pauly and the Tao of Poker is always very entertaining. If you have not read his adventures in the Hooker bar, you really should.

In person, who is the most attractive poker blogger?

I would have to say CarmenSinCity is the most attractive looking poker blogger I have met so far.

BPB: Who has been your favorite guest poker pro so far in the Bodog blogger series and who else would you like to see play the tournament?

Waffles: So far I think there have only been two. I would have to say poker pro Evelyn Ng is my favorite because she is a dominate poker player in a mostly male dominated field. She did not let anything hold her back and she is one of the top poker players out there … plus she’s HOT!

BPB: What’s the craziest thing you have ever done while playing online poker?

Waffles: I played a whole MTT naked before. That was a lot of fun. When the tourney finished so did I.

BPB: Were you surprised when Bodog approached you to be a bounty in one of our blogger tournaments?

Waffles: No. It really was only a matter of time before a major poker site invited me to be a guest pro. I expect the offers to become a named player with many sites will be coming in soon.

BPB: Where do you stand with how Google has been treating poker bloggers these days?

Waffles: Google can kiss my a**. I can understand them wanting to get rid of the shill sites but they did it totally wrong. I mean when I try and search for specific Bloggers names and get sites that repackage original content instead there is something wrong. They need to rethink what they want to accomplish.

BPB: What can you tell us about yourself that the world doesn’t already know?

Waffles: I am a very open person and there is probably nothing I have not told people. If there is I am sure it will come out later. Here is a list of 100 things you might not ever want to know about Waffles that I wrote a while ago.

BPB: Any last words?

Waffles: Never eat soggy waffles. Also, thanks to Bodog for recognizing me as a poker pro and I look forward to collecting my own bounty.

*This interview was done for entertainment purposes only. No soggy waffles were eaten in the making of it.
